What Trackneat looks like
This is a shop's page in Trackneat. At a glance you see:
- which tracking tags are running right now, for example Meta Pixel, Google Analytics 4 and Tag Manager
- how each tracking tag ran over the last 30 days, with failed days marked
- what the cookie banner test found, before consent and after “Reject”
Tracking tags are small scripts that count visits for ads and statistics, for example the Meta Pixel.
Trackneat also finds the Meta Pixel that Shopify adds through the Facebook & Instagram channel. More on Shopify

Does this work without Shopify?
Where tracking tags in a Shopify store come from
If a tag is missing, you only notice it in the numbers. These are the four sources:
The Facebook & Instagram channel
adds the Meta Pixel without it being in your theme.
The Google & YouTube channel
adds Google Analytics 4.
The theme
can contain tags and scripts directly, including Google Tag Manager.
Apps
add their own pixels, for example for TikTok or analytics tools.
Trackneat shows you which of these sources load on the page you give us.
What our checks see, and what they don't
What we see
- The Meta Pixel from the Facebook & Instagram channel, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and other tags on the page you enter.
- Whether a tracking tag loads before anyone has agreed.
- Whether anything still sends data after “Reject”.
- Whether a cookie banner is there. If Trackneat finds none, it says so.
What we don't see
- Cart, checkout, orders and purchase events.
- What arrives in your ad account.
- Pages of your shop other than the one you enter.
Our checks do not see purchases or the checkout. If Meta shows fewer purchases than your shop, the cause can be the purchase event in the checkout, the attribution at Meta, or visitors who don't consent.
The purchase event is the message your shop sends to Meta after every purchase. With attribution, Meta decides which ad gets the purchase. Tracking gone after an update
The check loads your tracking scripts. When we click “Accept” in the cookie banner, your tracking tags start like they do for a real visitor. We hold back the measurement data they would send to Meta, Google and the other recognised platforms because of our check. So our check does not appear in the reports of those platforms. We do not block your own tracking, real visitors are measured as usual. Your shop system's statistics and tools we don't recognise may count the visit. Your cookie banner provider may count our click as consent or rejection.
Problems in Shopify stores
Did you get an alert from Trackneat and don't know how to find the error? Each problem has a guide:
Trackneat keeps checking, even when you aren't looking
A theme update is installed in a minute, and afterwards the pixel can be missing. Trackneat shows you what is running in your shop right now, and writes to you when something goes missing later.
- We open your shop like a new visitor, without your login and without your saved consent.
- If there is a cookie banner, we test “accept” and “reject”.
During the trial we check morning and evening (8 am and 8 pm). On a plan we check every 4 hours.
The trial: you sign up with email or Google, you need no credit card, and the first result comes usually within one to two minutes.
14 days free. No credit card. After that you only pay if you choose a plan.
